The Paestum Archaeological Park and National Archaeological Museum can be visited with a single ticket that also includes access to the archaeological area of Velia.
The ticket is valid for three consecutive days, allowing visitors to organise their visit to Paestum, its museum and Velia without having to see everything on the same day.

The ticket office closes and the last admission to the archaeological park is at:

Do you need to book Paestum in advance?
Advance booking is not compulsory for ordinary admission.
Tickets can be purchased at the ticket offices in Paestum or online through the official ticketing service.
Buying in advance can nevertheless be convenient during busy periods, weekends and holidays.

Tickets can be purchased in Paestum at:

Visitors entitled to reduced or free admission should bring the appropriate identification or documentation.
Free admission
Children and young people under 18 are entitled to free admission.
The Archaeological Parks of Paestum and Velia also participate in the Italian Ministry of Culture's free-admission initiatives, including the first Sunday of the month.
Other free-admission dates and eligibility categories may be introduced during the year.
Always check the current conditions before travelling, particularly if you are planning your visit around a free-admission day.
How much time should you allow for Paestum?
For the archaeological area alone, allow at least two hours to see the three major Greek temples, Agora, Roman Forum, Amphitheatre and other principal monuments without rushing.
The National Archaeological Museum deserves additional time, particularly for the Tomb of the Diver, the Lucanian painted tombs and the metopes from the Sanctuary of Hera at the Sele.
For a complete visit to both the archaeological site and museum, allowing approximately three to four hours is a good starting point.
Visitors with a particular interest in archaeology may easily spend longer.
Archaeological Park and Museum
The archaeological area and museum should ideally be visited together.
The temples and remains outside show the monumental development of ancient Poseidonia and Roman Paestum, while the museum preserves the sculptures, paintings, pottery and everyday objects discovered during archaeological excavations.
Since the entrance ticket includes both, visiting the museum greatly improves the understanding of the monuments seen in the archaeological park.
